Finding Menopause Relief the Natural Way
Hot flashes, night sweats, insomnia,
headaches, overbearing joint pain, mood swings, heart palpitations,
and exhaustion are all things that menopausal women experience on a
daily basis. It can add up to too much for a woman to deal with in
the end. It is important to remember, though, that you do not have
to undergo the dangers of hormone replacement therapy just to find
relief for your serious symptoms. There are a number of great
solutions that you can find around the corner at your local health
food store that have few, if any, side effects, but offer great
relief for the symptoms you have to fight with each day.
One of the major symptoms women have
to fight with on a regular basis is the hot flash. Hot flashes are
most typically reported as a hot flushing feeling throughout the
body. A hot flash can make a woman who is standing outdoors in sixty
degree weather feel as if she is experiencing eighty degree weather.
Even if everyone else in your household is cold, you may feel like
you have to open all of the windows or turn the air conditioner on.
At the very next moment, though, you may be shivering or cold, just
as occurs when you have a fever. Sometimes hot flashes can be more
than just an overwhelming feeling of heat. For many women they
include dizziness. For others, heart palpitations occur with hot
flashes. Still others have the sensation that their skin is
crawling, while some women feel faint when a hot flash occurs. To
handle this problem naturally, try increasing your intake of soy
products. You could try adding soy milk to your morning routine. You
might also start eating soybeans. Tofu, miso, and tempeh are also
great sources of soy. You should start to notice relief about a week
after you introduce soy products to your diet.
Black Cohos has also proven very helpful to hot flashes. It also
seems to relive other menopausal symptoms including anxiety, heart
palpitations, and headaches. It is recommended that you take twenty
to sixty milligrams of this herb each day to notice a difference in
your symptoms. Progesterone cream can help with some of these
symptoms as well. Remember that you will need natural progesterone
cream, but most drug stores carry it without a prescription. Simply
rub the recommended amount onto your skin, and you should experience
relief within a few hours. Recent studies have shown that Vitamin E
can help with night sweats and hot flashes. Take between 400 and 800
International Units each day to notice the level of relief you need.
Gabapentin, relatively new on the market as a menopause relief tool,
has been proven to provide some level of relief. It was developed
for migraine headaches, but it has been shown to be safe for relief
from your symptoms. Effexor, another popular prescription drug, can
also offer you some measure of relief from your symptoms. Remember
to exercise for thirty minutes each day, and try avoiding menopause
problem foods like caffeine, spicy foods, and alcohol. If natural
products don't work, you might talk to your gynecologist about
hormone replacement therapy. Despite its side effects, it does seem
to provide relief to most women.
